Section 01
What's New for 2027?
Chevrolet didn't just freshen up the Silverado 1500 for 2027 — they rebuilt it from the ground up. New engines, a sharper exterior, and a cabin built around screens make this the biggest jump the nameplate has seen in years.
A Pair of Brand-New V8s
After a 25-year run, the 5.3L V8 is being put out to pasture — this is the first model year since 1999 without one. Taking its place are two next-generation small-blocks: a 5.7L base engine and a segment-topping 6.6L, now the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 you can get in a full-size pickup. Both are built right here in North America, out of GM's Flint, Tonawanda, and St. Catharines plants.
6.6L V8 — Most Powerful
A Sharper Stance
LED headlights now come standard across the board, the wheel arches are more muscular, every trim gets its own visual identity, and dual exhaust shows up starting at Custom.
Hands-Free, Even While Towing
Super Cruise now works while you're pulling a trailer — something nothing else in the class can claim. That's real peace of mind on long Alberta highway stretches.
A Cabin Full of Screens
A 16.3" centre touchscreen and 12.2" digital cluster ship standard on every single 2027 Silverado. Step up to ZR2 or High Country and you'll also find an 11.5" passenger screen, a head-up display, and a digital rearview mirror.
Three Ways to Go Off-Road
Chevrolet heard the demand loud and clear: the 2027 lineup now offers three lifted trims — Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss with its 2" lift and 34" tires, and the range-topping ZR2 riding on 35" mud-terrains with front and rear E-lockers plus Multimatic DSSV dampers.
A Cleaner Seven-Trim Lineup
The LT badge is gone, replaced by a new trim simply called "Silverado." The full roster: Work Truck, Custom, Silverado, Custom Trail Boss, Trail Boss, High Country, and ZR2 — and every 4x4 model now gets the Z71 package standard.
Section 02
2027 Silverado 1500 Redesign
This is a full fifth-generation redesign, not a mid-cycle refresh. Chevrolet rethought the truck's face, its stance, and the materials inside it — while keeping the working-truck DNA that's kept Silverado owners loyal for decades.
New Face, New Lighting
A redrawn grille and LED lighting signature — standard on every trim this time, not just the top of the range — give the 2027 truck a more confident, squared-off presence from the front.
Bolder Body Lines
More pronounced wheel arches and trim-specific sheet metal cues give each version of the truck — from Work Truck to High Country — its own distinct read from across a parking lot.
Materials Take a Step Up
High Country introduces real wood trim and microfiber suede, while ZR2 debuts forged carbon-fibre interior accents — a first for the nameplate at either end of the lineup.
🚪 Inside the Cab
Step inside and the redesign keeps going: a reconfigurable Multi-Flex centre console, an available panoramic sunroof — the first ever offered on a Silverado — and trim-specific interior themes mean a Work Truck and a High Country feel like they belong to entirely different price tiers, even though they share the same bones underneath.

Section 05
Performance & Engine Options
Four engines, one new transmission across the board, and a flagship V8 that claims the top spot in the segment. Here's the powertrain story for 2027.
5.7L V8 — The New Base
Replacing the long-serving 5.3L, this next-generation small-block is the default V8 across the lineup — built for everyday towing, hauling, and the kind of mileage Albertans put on a truck.
6.6L V8 — Segment Leader
Chevrolet's claim is bold: the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 in the full-size truck class. For drivers who tow heavy or just want maximum power on tap, this is the one to spec.
2.7L TurboMax
Best-in-class standard torque from a turbocharged four-cylinder, and now matched with a new 10-speed automatic for smoother, more efficient power delivery.
3.0L Duramax Diesel
Still the only turbodiesel in the segment, prized by drivers who rack up highway kilometres and want maximum efficiency without giving up towing muscle.
🔁 One Transmission, Across the Board
Every engine in the 2027 lineup, including the 2.7L TurboMax, now pairs with a 10-speed automatic — up from the 8-speed previously offered with the turbo-four. Expect smoother shifts and better-matched gearing whether you're cruising the Yellowhead or working a trailer up Highway 16.
*Exact horsepower, torque, and towing figures have not yet been published by Chevrolet. We'll update this page the moment official numbers are released.
